Ironically, graduate school and the work entailed isn't as hard as people make it out to be....the application process - now there is a helluva time!

For anyone who reads this and is thinking of graduate school here are some pointers:

The G.R.E. - take it before your Jr. year and make sure you study. It doesn't matter what your major is. - BTW this is one of the 'research it on your own time' things.

Research schools and programs. Make sure they suit your interests and character. This means more than knowing the classes. This means knowing who teaches the classes and their personal interests. - BTW this is one of the 'research it on your own time' things.

Personal statements.....suck. You will have to write a completely different one for each school as you will be describing the characteristics of that school and program you like. - BTW this is one of the 'do it on your own time' things.

Letters of recommendation....will never get done at all unless you ask for them to be written at least 6 months ahead of time. - BTW this is one of the 'worry about it on your own time' things.

Have someone keep you on track, otherwise you will end up on random websites trying to warn others about the agony that is the graduate school application process.
